When I Choose to be Thankful

20171024_161824

When I choose to be thankful Lord God,

my heart begins to stir,

where praise is formed,

and I know that very soon

I will be filled again,

as I worship

seeing the future in a whole new light.

I thank you My God.

Rejoicing Comes in the Morning

20161030_133815.jpg

“Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;

praise his holy name. For his anger

lasts only a moment, but his favor

lasts a lifetime; weeping

may stay for the night,

but rejoicing comes

in the morning.”

Psalm 30: 4, 5

One of the wonderful things about the Psalms is that they are so real, speaking to us many times as if they know what we are going through.

There are times of weeping but fortunately they are brief, and in the end…..there is rejoicing!

Heavenly Father, thank You that You see the big picture. Help us not to worry, but to trust You, and even sing songs in the midst of the storms of our lives. Amen.

Loving with Actions and in Truth

100_1069

“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need

but has no pity on them, how can the love of God

be in that person? Dear children, let us not love

with words or speech

but with actions and in truth.”

I John 3: 17, 18

There are times where the things we say, are not nearly as important as what we do. And there are so many needs in our world, in the U.S. and overseas.

Heavenly Father, please help us to know how and when to help people, including with our time and money. We need the wisdom, and the heart to make a positive impact Lord God. Guide us, amen.

In the Shadow of Your Wings

100_1047

“Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand

those who take refuge in you from their foes.

Keep me as the apple of your eye;

hide me in the shadow of your wings.”

Psalm 17: 7,8

Isn’t it cool to be under God’s care, under His wings?? And why does He keep us safe? Simply because of the wonders of His great love! And I love the illustration here, of being saved by His right hand when we take refuge in him.

Heavenly Father, thank you for watching over us, and being there when we need to take refuge in You! Keep us as the apple of your eye. Amen.

quote from the NIV Bible

Psalm 27: 1-3

100_1260

The Lord is my light and salvation – whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?

When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh,

when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will

stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me,

my heart will not fear; though war break out

against me, even then I will

be confident.
