When You Seek Me

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me

with all your heart. I will be found by you….”

Jeremiah 29:13, 14a

Jeremiah has often been called the “weeping prophet”. He prayed for his people, the people of Israel during a horrible time, when they had been taken captive and carried away to Babylon.

And yet God spoke to Jeremiah that the captivity would end! And he assured the prophet He can be found when we seek Him!

For us today, this should be tremendously encouraging. He had good things in store for the people at that time, and He has good things in store for us!

We can seek God and He will be found by us! Hallelujah!!

Heavenly Father thank you for this encouragement, that we can find You, and that You do hear our prayers. Help us through our struggles, and help us to have confidence, that we can trust in You, Our God! Amen.

quote from the NIV Bible

You Will Seek Me and Find Me

“Then you will call upon me and come and pray

to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek

me and find me when you seek me

with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29: 12, 13

Continuing with Jeremiah from yesterday, after His wonderful words of giving us hope and a future, God declares He will do a work in us!

And not only that He will hear us when we call out to Him. Now that doesn’t mean that all of our prayers will be answered with “yes”, but He will hear us. In a very real sense we will find Him!

In this beautiful portion it is very clear, that our Heavenly Father wants us to have a loving relationship with Him.

Lord God thank you that You care about every detail of our lives, and you want us to seek You. In every sense, You truly are……..our Heavenly Father. Amen!

Hope and a Future

tree lights

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,

plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans

to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

The prophet Jeremiah was often called the “weeping” prophet. God’s people had gone through some terrible times, and most were now in exile, in Babylon, when this was written.

Everything had been shattered. When I thought about this, I thought of how this can apply to us today. Sometimes we are broken, and we need to hear encouragement from heaven.

And in our most broken moments, it seems as if it is all over, nothing good will happen again. But…..look what God does here.

This is not some TED talk, this is the Creator, the Lord God Almighty, saying He has plans for us…..and good things are in store! Hallelujah!!

He gives us hope!! And thankfully we do have a future! We can trust in Him, even in our worst times.

Lord God, our Heavenly Father, thank you for your plans for us! Help us to trust in you, even in the most difficult times. And as we let go of our fears, fill us Lord God with an incredible and amazing……sense of hope. Amen!!

When He Thunders

“When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar;

he makes clouds rise

from the ends of the earth.

He sends lightning with the rain

and brings out the wind

from his storehouses.”

Jeremiah 51: 16
