There is No One Like Our God

Immovable, all powerful, unlimited, unstoppable

the solid rock

the light of every

the awesome

Only He has made everything

in the Earth

There is no one

like Him!

No one,

there is no one like our God.

No one.

And amen.

As We Walk with You

When the leaves decay and let go of the trees, I think of You Lord God,

as the wind moves through the bare branches.

And I remember Lord

how You move us through

the seasons of our lives.

Thank You Lord God

for being my side.

Life is always better,

even as we transition,

moving through,

as we walk with You.

Happy Thanksgiving

A match is struck, with two candles bringing light into the room,

showing purple flowers.

Each one bows their heads, knowing this presence,

we begin to pray silently

for each other, thanking God,

praising Him

for working in our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving!

A Prayer for Thanksgiving

Lord during this season of Thanksgiving, may we be thankful to You, and not some ambiguous force somewhere out there.

May we turn our hearts to You, Lord God Almighty. May we not focus only on football and turkey, but on Your wonderful goodness and provision!

We thank You our God, for good food, and all that You provide.

More importantly we thank You for our families! As imperfect as they are, we know that family is a gift from You.

Our God we thank You for everything.

Mountain Skies

Mountain skies always remind me, that we are not alone,

that I was created

wonderfully made

to walk right here

and humbly

with You Lord God.

And why is it that standing

on top of the mountain

is both thrilling,

and humbling

at the same time?

A Grateful Heart

“There is something that happens when you are grateful: you continue to keep receiving blessings.”

Chrissy Metz

I’m not always grateful, are you?

I think it’s almost impossible, and sometimes inconceivable, to be grateful for the tragedies that happen in our lives.

However I do look for, or at least try to, for what God wants me to learn from the tough, seemingly impossible circumstance.

Is there something good that can happen as a result?

One example is the terrible news we received that my wife got cancer for the second time. Ugh!

I don’t think God wants us to grateful for this type of thing. But my attitude can still be one of trusting in Him, and looking for the positive.

For us – we suddenly grew closer by spending more time talking, and doing things that she likes to do!

We are “best buddies”. 🙂🙂

Lord God thank you for guiding us through those tough circumstances we often face. Help us to trust in You even in the storms of life.

A Prayer for Older Couples

Heavenly Father, thank you that we are still together,

loving each other, here on this earth.

Even though we’ve changed,

and love changes over time,

help us to look to You,

to trust in You

and to always work together

as a team.

May we embrace our differences,

and may love always

be our guide. And Lord

You know our aches and pains,

guard our hearts,

that we will not be bitter.

May we have the love in our hearts

and the courage to always say

“I do.” And “I still do.”
