The Lord Helps the Oppressed

“The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.”

Psalm 103: 6

Have you, or a family member ever been bullied, or bossed around? Pretty horrible isn’t it?

And yet with God involved, on behalf of the oppressed, its going to turn out much different than the bully ever imagined!

And this verse seems to be a general statement about helping the oppressed, so I think we could apply this to the elderly that don’t have enough food to eat, the mentally ill, and yes to women who are abused.

These issues are real and we should never hide from them, or duck away in our nice comfy houses. No.

We of all people should get out our wallets, or spend time with a mentally ill friend or family member. Indeed we should show that God cares through our own actions of caring for and about others.

Lord God thank You that You are working for and on behalf of the oppressed.

Help us to have hearts filled with compassion for our neighbors! Inspire us – to lend a hand, and show us how to Lord God.

Amen and amen.

quote from the NIV Bible

Even in Darkness, Light Dawns

“Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,

for those who are gracious

and compassionate and righteous.

Good will come to those who

are generous and lend freely,

who conduct their affairs with justice.”

Psalm 112: 4, 5

Wow, ain’t this so cool? One of the reasons I love the Psalms (in addition to the praise and magnifying of the Lord God) is the way they often focus on doing good.

In particular there is a focus on having compassion for others!

There is nothing here of saying a quick prayer, and now you’re ok with God.

A prayer to start with is good, but then we are to be filled with compassion and justice! Yes!!

So does your faith teach you to lend freely and conduct your affairs with justice?

Heavenly Father help us to have a strong faith, caring for others and having compassion! May our lives reflect more of who You are!! Amen, and let it be so.

quote from the NIV Bible

In Giving We Receive

“…for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning

that we are pardoned; And it is in dying

that we are born

to eternal life.”

from the Poem of St. Francis

As we give our lives to serving God it is indeed a surrender. In that sense, we let go of ourselves, and we truly receive so many spiritual blessings in return. This also reminds me of the phrase we reap what we sow. A farmer plants seeds, and in return those seeds grow, and hopefully one day will produce food.

And we are to forgive others, the way we have been forgiven, unconditionally. Not that we agree with the wrong done to us, but we let it go and trust God to work it all out.

Heavenly Father, help us to be forgiving of others and giving of ourselves – first and foremost to you, and also to others. Amen.

P. S. See you on Monday!

An Offering

This blog and these posts are an offering. Before I ever began, I gave it all to the Lord, and it was really a step of faith. Faith blogs are never the most popular, and that’s because of our world becoming increasingly secular.

But having said all that, it does appear that someone is manipulating this site and perhaps even scaring people away. Are there trolls? Probably. Are they Russian hackers?? I doubt it! Lol.

Think it couldn’t happen here? Simply look up Psalm 29:11, on my site. The difference of people being involved in March of this year, and now is remarkable.

One thing trolls do not understand though, is the concept of offering. If God blesses these posts – great. And if not that’s OK. It is in His hands. I will keep posting.

Heavenly Father I trust in You, and I ask that you would continue to guide me with this site. Show me how it should be done. I give this all to you, once again. In Christ’s name, amen.

A Note of Thanks

First of all I want to thank each of you, for being here and reading these posts. More importantly thank you your faith, and your examples of faith that are so encouraging!

I also wanted to let you know that I am not a professional blogger, I make no money from it, and I have nothing to sell. Which means I work a job, and one with very difficult hours at times, so there are occasions where I will not be here for a couple of days, reading your work.

I do look forward to reading your work! I have several blogs because of my love for writing, but this is my faith based one, so it is very important to me.

Thanks again for reading!
