King of the Universe

stars nationalgeo

“By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,

their starry host by the breath

of his mouth.”

Psalm 33:6

Do you ever think about the stars? So many billions and trillions of stars, and those are just the ones we can see! There are some so far away, not even the strongest telescopes can spot them.

And yet the same God, so magnificent, so much the King of the Universe, knows about every detail of our lives. Isn’t that amazing?? He even knows every hair on our head! What??

And so, this verse wants us to think about how infinite our God is. It’s meant to inspire us, and yes to even bring forth praise from our hearts. Praise the One who made everything!

I’m reminded here of Genesis and the creation – God spoke, and it was!

Heavenly Father, You are amazing. Help us to focus on what You have made, and also, how You care about every detail of our lives! We praise You and thank You, amen!

Each of One of Our Lives

100_1047

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Genesis 1:1

It all began with God. Before there was ever a world, He was.

And we are not the summation of chance and matter, coming together randomly.

To be honest that takes more faith to believe, than simply God made each of us.

Did God know us before the world was ever made? I believe He did, and I am sure He rejoiced when he saw the beautiful mosaic of each one of our lives. Each one a masterpiece.

Lord God we thank You and praise You! Amen.

Let the Earth Be Glad

100_1502

“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it.”

Psalm 96: 11

Did you know the creation praises God? For sure it does, time and again the psalmist speaks of things like the trees clapping their hands, the fields being jubilant, the ocean rejoicing, and why?

Because God is in charge of everything, and He is good to us. I think the creation is also a symbol of our hearts, fruitful, thriving, and praising the One who made us all.

Praise the Lord of all! Heavenly Father, thank you that we can have joyful hearts, as we look to all that You are doing in our hearts and lives! Thank you for the beauty of creation. Help us to rejoice, even when times are tough. May all creation praise You. Amen!

When He Thunders

“When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar;

he makes clouds rise

from the ends of the earth.

He sends lightning with the rain

and brings out the wind

from his storehouses.”

Jeremiah 51: 16

The Day of Rest

100_1471

Genesis 2: 1-3

“Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating he had done.”

(We were always given at least one day a week to rest, simply as a gift)

The Sixth Day – Creation Ending

100_1837

Genesis 1:30-31

“And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground – everything that has the breath of life in it – I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning – the sixth day.
