I Will Still Trust in You

By faith I will trust in You Lord God,

even when

I don’t understand,

and even when

You do not seem close,

I will trust in You

Because You made me,

and because You know every thing.

Even when I cannot see

through your eyes,

I will still trust

in You.

On Earth as it Is in Heaven

“Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven….” Matthew 6

These famous lines mark the beginning of the “Our Father” prayer, also known as the Lord’s Prayer.

Besides the setting apart of God’s name and praising Him, there is something very important for us to remember.

We should want it to be on earth as it is heaven. Now we know it won’t be perfect down here, until the end of all things, but we can still pray that it would be according to what He wants!

And you know what? The most important thing is – God’s will being done in our lives.

True we are not perfect, but do our lives reflect His kingdom on earth?

Heavenly Father, may Your will be done in our lives, and may we be a reflection of who You are! Amen!

A Prayer to Forgive

Lord God, I confess I’m not really good at this, walking

with You is always refreshing, like a stream

through my heart, but to forgive?

Please remove these knives

from my back.

I do trust in You My God,

so help me to surrender even this

to You, I can hardly say

the words, “I forgive….”

Please help me

to keep forgiving.

For God So Loved Us

“For God so loved the world

that he gave…..”

John 3:16a

If there is anything that we can agree upon, anything that we get right…..it is this powerful truth that God loves us.

We may debate different doctrines, we may get tangled up in our own bitterness, or lost in some other perceived light……but this truth stands alone as a way of pulling us back towards Him.

Imagine – the Creator of the universe knowing everything about you, and loving you anyway. And He offers forgiveness when we need it. Hallelujah!

Heavenly Father thank you for Your amazing love! We praise you and thank you, with grateful hearts. Amen.

God with Us

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign:

the virgin will conceive

and give birth to a son,

and will call him

Isaiah 7:14

Savior. Redeemer. God is with us truly, each day!

Isn’t that so cool?!

Lord God thank You! Amen.

Have a wonderful Christmas day!

His Light is with Us

christmas tree

As I think of the lights this season, so brightly celebrating the time of year, I’m blessed by what I see. People caring about one another, parents taking care of their children, and even teenagers helping the elderly.

Many are not wrapped up in the shopping, the great deals on line, and everything except the Messiah being born.

You see there is still hope. And there is still faith. If someone doesn’t follow my beliefs exactly, that doesn’t offend me, even though it used to.

I know what it’s like to have a heart filled with judging others, and I don’t want that anymore. God is the judge, not me.

But what’s important this season, is to share about God’s love, and His light being with us. And as we spend time with our families, may we also be concerned about the poor.

Be blessed this weekend! Merry Christmas!

Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving

20170503_161337 “Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us,

and we are his; we are his people,

the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving

and his courts with praise;

give thanks to him and praise

his name. For the Lord is good

and his love endures forever;

His faithfulness continues

through all generations.”

Psalm 100: 2-5

Wow! Hallelujah! If you think high praise of God started with a non-denominational church — think again!

This is one of those classic psalms that combines the 2 essential elements of thankfulness and praise. What power there is in these two interwoven themes.

And there is a key theological truth here that is at the core of all we believe, did you catch it?

Read through it again, and see if you can find it. I’ll wait here.

Ok, so did you find it? Well…… if you guessed…….we are made by Him – you’re right!

Your life has never been by chance, you are not a mistake…..and there is always hope – because you were made by Him! Hallelujah again!

Lord God we thank you, and praise You! And help us to understand there is always hope. Amen!

Holiday Traditions

purple and white flowers

This is such a beautiful time of year. Traditions enrich our faith walk, adding depth in many ways. But how many wise men were there? Three?

Well actually, the Scriptures do not indicate the exact number. We get the number three from the three gifts, of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. There could have been three, or two, or even twenty-two.

Notable people with valuable gifts usually travelled with an entourage, perhaps even armed guards. So, it would be perfectly plausible to think of the team of wise men having with them forty – fifty people!

And the Messiah was probably not born on the 25th of December. Many Bible scholars believe He was actually born in the fall. But you know what? That’s OK.

We do not have to give in to fundamentalism, or strict judgement that hates what it sees as deviations in the faith. I’ve been on both sides of the aisle, and I can tell you for sure that celebrating Christmas is a wonderful, even God-given blessing.

We can celebrate the light of this season, wrapping ourselves in the splendor, the majesty, the hope God has given us.

Heavenly Father bless us with the sense of hope we all need, while focusing on the light coming into the world, during this Christmas season. Help us to be filled with joy as we sing Christmas carols. We thank You and praise You God! Amen.

He’s Got This

“Be still and know,

that I am God.”

Psalm 46:10

So few words and yet so powerful. It’s not easy to be still is it? When we are going through difficult times, the last thing we want to do is to be still.

We often feel like, we need to do something! And yet in the internal stillness, we find peace. How does that happen? There is something very special about quieting our spirits, perhaps meditating on an aspect of God.

Trust is built within the stillness, and gradually we do know Him more. And look what God wants us to focus on – to know – that He is God.

In other words, he’s got this. He knows exactly what we are facing. Nothing is a surprise to Him. In our knowing Him, trust is built stronger than a fortress.

He’s got this. He’s got you and I, and He will never let us go.

Hold onto us Lord God. Help us to have an internal quiet, a peaceful knowing that you are God. We thank You, and praise You Lord God Almighty. Amen.
