The Old Testament – Our Roots

“Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.”

Psalm 119:89

As you know I have named this site after following the Psalms. I also quote a great deal from Proverbs, and from other places in the Bible, including once in a while, a quote from the New Testament. But why? There are several reasons.

First there are a great many sites that are much more Christian than my own. The Gospel is presented in so many beautiful ways. I wanted this one to be different, and to dig a little deeper into our roots.

When Jesus quoted Scriptures, he quoted from scrolls that we now call the Old Testament, including from the Psalms. I think it’s a shame that some, without realizing it, simply disregard, or mentally throw away, this portion of Scriptures.

And I’m not good at ministering to Christians, I don’t think I ever have been. I do know that the Psalms have a special place in the hearts of many different kinds of people. Jews, Sikhs, Muslims, and people with no faith love the Psalms, and the wisdom of Proverbs.

So those are the reasons this site is unique.

Thank you for reading!
